Lifecycles for moving

I am going to move in the near future. With the move comes panic and stress. Since I transferred many times and carried my things . It was terribly hard . And now with a family and small children how to carry my air conditioning and all the furniture. Has anyone ever moved that far from Boston to Chicago. I'm going to take the furniture with me since I can't afford to buy new furniture.
