My name is Erik and i have been playing CA since 2009 ( I quit in 2015 due to personal reasons and came back after hearing the game was taken over by Valofe).
I have played Quarantine Regen for along time , since 2010-2011 till the day i quit (somewhere in 2015).
As for today , Quarantine Regen is a DEAD mode for the Free Running community which was the biggest and most active community in QR and probably in the hole game...
A proof to that is that most of the so called "Free Runners" simply quit due to huge changes Nexon did in the game in 2015-2017.
I would like to list them here ( changes i noticed in the game ) and give my opinion about them ( feel free to comment your opinions down below ,this thread is meant for Valofe staff and for the QR community)
1 ) Gear Re-Balance : Well , the first thing i noticed when i logged in was that my Recon Vest stats has changed . It no longer had a 15% speed bonus ,it had a 10% bonus instead.
Later on i noticed changes in my Cyclop Bandana (5% instead of 7%) and in other gear which i had...I quickly went into the shop and discovered that most of the gear stats were re-balanced...
In Free Running , speed is crucial - without a decent amount of speed (20-25%) it is impossible to run , especially in small maps and areas.
Taking the speed away from a fast paced game is destroying it's most crucial element - the speed . CA isn't a slow tactical game like CS:GO and it was loved and played for what it was - a unique and fast paced game , not some wannabe CS;GO game. Indeed high speed had negative effects in modes like One Man Army but it could simply be fixed by Elite Moderator/Room Master Restrictions - same as No Explosives ( Allowing room masters to make a speed limit in their room - 25% , 20% , 10% , No limit etc). Adding room rules such as speed restrictions can solve this problem for all players - the ones who want to Free Run in Quarantine (high speed) and the ones who want a fair play in OMA (slow or moderate speed).
This leads me to the second point :
2) Elite Moderator : yea we all hated that rage kicking guy, but without it we couldn't keep order in rooms.
Kicking mine shooters , barrel shooters , glichers , hackers etc is almost impossible right now...and the power of Elite will change it.
One more important fact - Elite custom rules made QR community so big and successful as it was back in the day :
No Specialists + No Mutagens custom rules (In room names) was the best thing that happened to the Free Running community .
Yes, specialist weapons are too OP for Quarantine Regen (in the opinion of many) , And the same goes to Mutagens...
In not saying that you should erase Mutagens and Specialist weapons , i'm saying you should give the player the freedom to choose - if he wants to play in rooms were everything is allowed or if he wants to play in custom rooms like - No spec/Muta were everything is quite fair and square (No OP weapons like Flamethrowers and no Overpowered zombies like no limit stamina Striker).
3) Explosives Re-Balance : In my first game since 2015 i noticed that the explosives damage was dramatically reduced - and in my opinion for no reason.
The high damage acted like a dual-edged blade:
On the one hand you inflicted high damage to the infected , but on the other hand you would have gotten yourself seriously injured or even killed - if not used explosives wisely in combat (meaning less people spamming the infected , which is the opposite right now).
Right now it is impossible to kill infected without spamming , even a mere infected can't be killed with a direct hit from an M69HE - this damage is way too low imo in the opinion of every free runner out there.
I'm not even talking about Hosts or even Mutagens who have higher HP then regular infected - those 3 are an impossible kill for one free runner - you must camp as a group and spam the shit out of these infected to have a chance to kill them...Quarantine mode turned into a mode that reminds me of Fireteam. Free Running shaped the core experience in this mode - taking on or escaping from these infected as a single person (Running and getting Accolades). I'm not saying teamwork is not important , but most people who played this mode played it as free runners and not as camping teams (Thumbs Up To StarFish hh)....Again you should allow here the freedom to choose - to play as a free runner or to camp as a group and survive , both acceptable by all means but killing one option by re-balancing the explosives damage and gear speed isn't fair - Nexon killed the majority of the Quarantine Regen community - the Free Runners community. In other modes Explosives weren't overpowered - surviving a land mine or an RPG direct hit is quite under powered imo...so they weren't a problem in other modes - so i really can't tell why Nexon lowered their damage so much..
4) Classic HUD and UI : As a person who saw Nexon change these two major aspects in 2009-2015 i must say that they managed to create the biggest horse shit ever with the Reloaded UI and HUD. One major problem is the window that pops every time there is a Successful kick - this is the No-1 most annoying feature in the Reloaded HUD.
Furthermore the current UI is just not user-friendly. It is really annoying and uncomfortable to navigate. Also you must exit a room in order to change your gear or weapons - which is a big problem imo. Every time you exit a room you have to make so many steps to find a new one - another major and annoying feature..
Servers - indeed this feature is the most important one - you must bring the servers system back - we need servers for EU , NA and global ones...
You just can't let everyone pop anywhere they want to - you just can't allow people from NA play in EU servers (same goes to EU players in NA servers), but you must have global servers to...
The new HUD is just not good, the old one is way more user friendly and it gives the nostalgic feel people are looking for...
5) Deleted maps - Silent Warehouse , Treasure Ship : Well i have no idea why Nexon deleted these maps and if there are more maps we can't play right now , but you should bring them back to the game...
6) Mutagens bonuses are bugged : Almost every time i enter a room i won't get the Mutagen-Human bonuses (3% speed,additional ammo etc).
This problem wont fix even when i choose Striker or Crusher instead of regular infected .
But it usually fixes itself after 2 or 3 rounds...
You should check this feature's coding and fix it...
Well i hope Valofe will bring the Classic CA back to live - cause that is the only reason i came back and probably the only reason 90% of the community still plays this game.
Please take my notes to your consideration , they conclude the opinion of the hole Free Running community.
If ill have more ideas or opinions ill edit this post - this isn't the final version yet.
