Hi,
I was wondering why many of you prefer CA: Classic over CA: Reloaded.
When this website, CA: Classic launched, I found several posts of people that wanted to buy specialist, equipment sets, etc. right away. Right off the bat, to me it seems like people don't like CA: Reloaded because they weren't able to run around a map at the speed of sound while firing a long range, rapid fire shotgun, or, an amazing assault rifle - that shoots two bullets simultaneously, or, a rapid fire assault rifle that is more or less a laser, and, or, having a decent SMG with a tight spread, and using two at the same time. (Max shotty, AR15, SOPMOD, Orthus)
I've seen a few people say that they do want CA: Classic because they spent so much money in this game. To me, if they know that CA: Classic is coming out, then they should also know that there two separate, independent databases. In other words, the money they spent in the CA that lead to Reloaded cannot be transferred to Classic. CA is a free game. The backbone of game companies that run free games are cash shops. I understand that. But in old CA, you can get a significantly better weapon by using money and no one can deny that (Of course in F2P games, that's almost always the case, but again, significantly better).
That being said, I feel like CA: Reloaded wasn't making much money (besides the fact it has a dysfunctional cash shop) since using money to get fancy guns didn't make a real difference. So, CA: Classic was rolled out.
Now you might be saying: "Oh, this guy is just salty/bad/etc." No, I'm not. I personally found that this game is pretty easy with an assault rifle, so I prefer using sniper rifles. It minimizes radial probability, random head shots and mine damage. And no, I don't camp. Not many campers can consistently top frag and get over 30 kills per game with a kill/death ratio that is greater than 2.5 and use a light vest (before and after Reloaded, mind you). Now you might be saying "Oh, this guy plays with bad people." That would be highly unlikely, since I came back playing around 7 - 8 months ago and played every game mode. If CA: Classic is a FPS game about who has a bigger wallet, then that benefits someone like me, who takes pride knowing that some people will never be as good as I will, no matter how much money they pour into their character.
As a CA player, are YOU getting better or is YOUR CHARACTER getting better?
Regarding room moderators: People have said removal of room moderators will lead to the proliferation of hackers, since "this game has so many hackers". However, as a North American player who sometimes plays late at night, I can count the amount of hackers I've seen with two hands. Do people sincerely believe that people still use chams and aimbot in this game? This game isn't that hard. Basic map knowledge and decent eye for grayed out names. Gunshot and footstep sound mechanics are nonexistent, you can hear footsteps or see muzzle flares clipping from the floor below you. And for aimbot, this game uses radial probability (random spread of reticle) and appalling head shot mechanics. The hackers I did find were blatant. Infected head, kill feed spam, and website advertising spam.
I will say that one thing I absolutely hate about CA: Reloaded is the rooms. I think that automatic matchmaking is an excellent addition, but how a player can choose any room with all the game modes in one spot and sorting just like in CA: Classic is much better than CA: Reloaded's room system.
Regarding quarantine players: I think that CA: Classic was fine for quarantine. However, I don't believe character stats should overlap to other game modes. Excess 30%+ run speed, and instant death from a purple grenade a fair distance from you does not belong in a shooting game. Do you know what else doesn't belong in a shooting game? Mines. Maybe a scaling factor of move speed, damage, etc from a quarantine game mode and every other game mode?
To me, Reloaded is better. It's balanced, simply put. In Reloaded, all I need is M6A2, TPG1, and TPG1 Pro and these were all available in the GP shop. I understand that I don't have to play CA: Classic. Understand that I'm not trying to get people to not play CA: Classic or anything like that. I'm just curious as to why many of you prefer CA: Classic. There's no wrong answer, you can admit you like to run around a map at the speed of sound while firing a long range, rapid fire shotgun, or, an amazing assault rifle - that shoots two bullets simultaneously, or, a rapid fire assault rifle that is more or less a laser, and, or, having a decent SMG with a tight spread, and using two at the same time.
I play CA: Reloaded @ 400 DPI, no mouse acceleration, 2.9 in-game sensivity, and using a 285 x 320 mm mouse pad.
Thanks for reading.
tl; dr : It's a 2 - 4 minute read, you can do it.
