  • Just a humble inquiry to CA: Classic players

    Hi,

I was wondering why many of you prefer CA: Classic over CA: Reloaded.

When this website, CA: Classic launched, I found several posts of people that wanted to buy specialist, equipment sets, etc. right away. Right off the bat, to me it seems like people don't like CA: Reloaded because they weren't able to run around a map at the speed of sound while firing a long range, rapid fire shotgun, or, an amazing assault rifle - that shoots two bullets simultaneously, or, a rapid fire assault rifle that is more or less a laser, and, or, having a decent SMG with a tight spread, and using two at the same time. (Max shotty, AR15, SOPMOD, Orthus)

I've seen a few people say that they do want CA: Classic because they spent so much money in this game. To me, if they know that CA: Classic is coming out, then they should also know that there two separate, independent databases. In other words, the money they spent in the CA that lead to Reloaded cannot be transferred to Classic. CA is a free game. The backbone of game companies that run free games are cash shops. I understand that. But in old CA, you can get a significantly better weapon by using money and no one can deny that (Of course in F2P games, that's almost always the case, but again, significantly better).

That being said, I feel like CA: Reloaded wasn't making much money (besides the fact it has a dysfunctional cash shop) since using money to get fancy guns didn't make a real difference. So, CA: Classic was rolled out.

Now you might be saying: "Oh, this guy is just salty/bad/etc." No, I'm not. I personally found that this game is pretty easy with an assault rifle, so I prefer using sniper rifles. It minimizes radial probability, random head shots and mine damage. And no, I don't camp. Not many campers can consistently top frag and get over 30 kills per game with a kill/death ratio that is greater than 2.5 and use a light vest (before and after Reloaded, mind you). Now you might be saying "Oh, this guy plays with bad people." That would be highly unlikely, since I came back playing around 7 - 8 months ago and played every game mode. If CA: Classic is a FPS game about who has a bigger wallet, then that benefits someone like me, who takes pride knowing that some people will never be as good as I will, no matter how much money they pour into their character.

As a CA player, are YOU getting better or is YOUR CHARACTER getting better?

Regarding room moderators: People have said removal of room moderators will lead to the proliferation of hackers, since "this game has so many hackers". However, as a North American player who sometimes plays late at night, I can count the amount of hackers I've seen with two hands. Do people sincerely believe that people still use chams and aimbot in this game? This game isn't that hard. Basic map knowledge and decent eye for grayed out names. Gunshot and footstep sound mechanics are nonexistent, you can hear footsteps or see muzzle flares clipping from the floor below you. And for aimbot, this game uses radial probability (random spread of reticle) and appalling head shot mechanics. The hackers I did find were blatant. Infected head, kill feed spam, and website advertising spam.

I will say that one thing I absolutely hate about CA: Reloaded is the rooms. I think that automatic matchmaking is an excellent addition, but how a player can choose any room with all the game modes in one spot and sorting just like in CA: Classic is much better than CA: Reloaded's room system.

Regarding quarantine players: I think that CA: Classic was fine for quarantine. However, I don't believe character stats should overlap to other game modes. Excess 30%+ run speed, and instant death from a purple grenade a fair distance from you does not belong in a shooting game. Do you know what else doesn't belong in a shooting game? Mines. Maybe a scaling factor of move speed, damage, etc from a quarantine game mode and every other game mode?

To me, Reloaded is better. It's balanced, simply put. In Reloaded, all I need is M6A2, TPG1, and TPG1 Pro and these were all available in the GP shop. I understand that I don't have to play CA: Classic. Understand that I'm not trying to get people to not play CA: Classic or anything like that. I'm just curious as to why many of you prefer CA: Classic. There's no wrong answer, you can admit you like to run around a map at the speed of sound while firing a long range, rapid fire shotgun, or, an amazing assault rifle - that shoots two bullets simultaneously, or, a rapid fire assault rifle that is more or less a laser, and, or, having a decent SMG with a tight spread, and using two at the same time.

    I play CA: Reloaded @ 400 DPI, no mouse acceleration, 2.9 in-game sensivity, and using a 285 x 320 mm mouse pad.

    Thanks for reading.

    tl; dr : It's a 2 - 4 minute read, you can do it.

What I really hated about Reloaded is just the new HUD and the new UI. I don't know why it was implemented such style, it was boring, confusing and just ugly tbh. The inventory and shop list was an absolute mess, it sorted by weapon type and that's all. Not by names, by grade or anything else that could've made them more cleaner. The older UI I'm talking about this (Photo 1). It has a better overview of what we want to see without having to click every button, even before Reloaded when the UI was changed in 2013, I remember people wanted it back because the pre-2013 UI was so much better and people loved it, it was easier to navigate, it has a better oversight over your stats and the game it self and etc.

In Reloaded, I feel I'm pressing so many buttons to navigate to somewhere and the inventory is just a complete mess in everything. You can't quick spam clicking onto something to quickly equip a weapon into your main or your backpack slot. No, you gotta click the exact button that Reloaded forces you to do it, it's annoying as hell with the backpack slots part, it just slows you down for a quick change, utterly poorly made. Regarding with that, in custom rooms, you are forced to leave the game to change your loadout, like what? It made no sense of fixing anything. I leave the server to change my loadout, I changed it and bam, my spot was taken. It was just another downgrade as like the older UI's did, it kept downgrading for like no reason. They also managed to hide the chat from your view and made the game look so dead, it was so poorly managed on the new UI by Nexon and should've sticked to the 2010-2012 UI as Veteran and pre-2013 players asked for a long time.

Although, gameplay wise besides the hud, it is so much smoother to play. The mouse movements were really smooth, I play much better because of it, it made my mouse more steady and really concentrated how I moved around and it really ran smoother even on Version 1 graphics (Classic graphics, I don't like the new graphics honestly.) If that could've mostly be placed in, then it fixes one of the main issues CA had.

Reloaded fixed things that the original CA had over the couple of years (I.E: Laggy gameplay, hackers, the P2W situation and the overpowered weapons) but aswell has implemented useless changes that we didn't asked for at all, like again the UI was so downgraded and they made themselves such a boring theme.

On the other hand, specialists, achievements, jobs, rank restrictions and anything else that you could do for your account wasn't returned in Reloaded as we asked for. Reloaded did improvise on the situations we had on Classic CA but aswell downgraded on stuff that we didn't asked for. I felt that was such a stab in the back for us. Those are my issues with Reloaded.

Everyone has their own opinions and I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this way. In the end, no one can define someone else's definition of what is fun in a video game. If CA: Classic players are happy with whatever happens to this version of the game, more power to them.

I completely agree with you. Reloaded has an incredibly unoptimized interface, terrible room system, etc. But to me, all of these do not warrant a change of opinion. Sure, the HUD/UI is terrible, but for me, it's not game breaking. I don't mind spending extra time moving around clunky interfaces so I can play a much more balanced game.

The rooms are absolutely trash, I agree. Nexon did talk about being able to change your character while in a room, but to be honest, it's highly unlikely that will happen. However, I enjoy automatic matchmaking and that's more than enough for me. I guess I underestimated those who prefer specific game mode, custom rooms.

There's a direct relationship with mouse "smoothness" and game frame rate. Just a 40 second snippet: https://youtu.be/hjWSRTYV8e0?t=1m . I tracked my FPS before and after CA: Reloaded and even though there was no real graphics difference (besides non game-breaking lighting and shadows), there was a FPS drop. Essentially, CA: Classic was a game that ran a higher FPS than CA: Reloaded, so it's mouse/game smoothness was objectively superior than CA: Reloaded because of frame latency. I just thought you'd wanted to know.

Lastly, specialists, rank restrictions, etc. I think it's an interesting hybrid. In old CA, you can get objectively better weapons if you had the appropriate rank. In CA: Reloaded, for everything that is available, all you needed was GP. However, in CA: Reloaded, getting GP is absolute hell. Essentially, in CA: Reloaded, a new player had the same arsenal as a long time player, but it takes lots of time.

I appreciate you giving me a detailed explanation.

It's incredibly apparent you haven't comprehended my post at all, it amazes me you even know the word 'groveling'. Unfortunately, you've left me disappointed because you've used the word wrong. To confirm your lack of comprehension, a brief look at your post history confirms my suspicions described in my original post (paragraph 2).

The reason I talked about my proficiency with a sniper rifle and everything else in paragraph 3 is because I want to state that I know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, it seems like you don't know what you're talking about.

Actually... That was a troll post, and you fell for it. Nice to see you put those English Comprehension I skills to good use though. I've learned over the years that it is best to simply compact whatever point I am trying to get across, rather than writing a needlessly formal statement in a gaming forum. You just end up coming across like a condescending snob that thinks he has a better vocabulary and understanding of the English language than everyone.

                  Paging /r/OopsDidntMeanTo .

                  1. Your second sentence doesn't make sense. In your third sentence, the word you're looking for is 'condense', not compact.

                  2. This game was and probably still is full of immature people who want to use mommy's credit card so they can buy their fancy
rare grade guns. In other words, young and dumb.

                  3. This game, having an audience that roughly resembles the Call of Duty community, using proper English, punctuation, etc
separates those described in point 2, and those who are able to properly talk like a normal person with some sense of decency.

                  4. I don't think my vocabulary or understanding of the English language is that much better than the average English speaker; it's too bad it came off condescending to you. I guess using words learned in grade 10 or simple sentence structure learned in middle school are above your caliber.

For your information, those immature people with mommy's credit card have helped to keep the game alive a bit longer, of course a game that is 'pay to win' cannot last long if there is no actual income for the company. I perfectly understand that you want a fair game, but that's not how the world works. There will always be a better equipment that your opponent will have and there is nothing you can do about it other than submit.

I actually start disliking classic more and more, a "classic" version of ca would've been 2008-2010 in my eyes, i prefer the room layout and events going on in classic ca but specs( atleast those medkit m32 one man army specs) nx op weaponary and elite abusers weren't what i was looking forward to. Valofe needs to combine the good aspects of both games to keep it fun and fresh.

it was better when specs started and you had to rank up to captain just to buy a spec, and exp was a lot harder to earn, especially before fireteam came in...

yeah i know, i never liked specs tough. I understand why and how they're needed for some modes but for tdm/oma players and in general GP only players those are just a pain in the as*, i remember times i had to think twice about getting a 1 day scope for the default gun, whilest getting destroyed by vipers healing up in their base. Neither want the ultimate grind nor the overusage of specs and their abillitys, like we had around 2015, back. make them good in pve,but balance those out and restrict theri utillitys in pvp modes.

I voted for CA Clasic! I waited for it! Then I played it and I rememberd :
                    - Super Elite Mod`s that can kick for no reason!
                    - The guy with the OP gun when everyone has default weapon
                    - The lag , the disconect at 138 kils.
I think Reloaded is much beter today than the old CA. Maybe a little spring cleaning in reloaded is all that we need!
